Can I just click on it? It is probably not possible to test this before a meeting? SaraKarolina should be able to! I would suggest testing in your personal meeting room before. If connected, you should hear a little chime when unmuting and muting yourself.

Have tried the above suggested steps and I can’t still get audio on my Bluetooth speaker from zoom. I’m using an android mobile. Is your Bluetooth speaker reconfigurable by your device? If so, should be recognizable by Zoom as well. Are you able to see the little speaker icon. I have the same issue and also use an ipad. As you can see from the screen shot there is no speaker icon. How do I connect to Bluetooth using the iPad zoom screen please? I’m having exactly the same problem.

Around December it all broke. I have the speaker button, the phone speakerphone works, but when I switch it to BT it just comes out the phone earpiece. I’m trying to use it with the same BT headphones. The headphones are connected and I can play music and make phone calls through them. My phone Samsung Note 20 ultra was updated recently and is running Android I just completely uninstalled Zoom, deleted all the data, and reinstalled it.

I’m having the same issue exactly as described. Android Zoom app refuses to send audio to any bluetooth speaker that doesn’t have a microphone. It would be much better if I could listen to presentations, large group meetings, etc. I hope Zoom people can understand the rationale for this request and fix the app so it can send audio output to an external bluetooth speaker. Hi InspectorGadget SaraKarolina LynTh Domw9rld as your cases may be unique, I would suggest contacting our Zoom technical support and they can further look into your issue.

Suggest after the creation of your ticket, to share the solution that’s provided. If you’re unable to open a ticket with our Zoom support team, I can also help with that process. Hi RN I think this is a real issue and not unique to the people above. It behaves exactly as they describe for me too.

As this screenshot, you can see Zoom does connect via Bluetooth, however, the audio still comes out from my Android phone, Pixel 3 XL, rather than my earphone. Definitely not unique. Exact same issue for me and also for my partner.

We’ve been trying and searching for months. There’s no way of having a different sound output device. I’m adding my voice to this as well. The only option is Wifi. We also encourage you to sign up for a free Zoom account.

If you already have the client, you will just be connected to the call. This usually works well but it takes a little time to go through the installation process, which may feel awkward if you are trying to be on time for a call.

You may prefer to do the installation manually before the call. If you will be using smartphone or tablet, you will need to do the manual installation. Install it the way you would install any software. We encourage you to do this even if you are primarily using a computer — your phone or tablet serves as a useful backup.

Having the client installed before your first call assures you of a smooth start. Whichever path you take is a matter of personal preference. You can be a guest on a call without any account but you need an account to host a call. We encourage you to sign up for a free account so that you can host calls, like for your triad. Free accounts are actually quite feature rich.

The main limitation with the free account is that group calls are limited to 40 minutes. This is more of an embarrassment for professionals than a true limitation since you can always just re-initiate the call after the 40 minute cutoff. You will need it one way or another to connect — in the link or as a number or stored in the client from a previous call.

Open the Zoom client software before joining the meeting. A panel will appear that looks like this:. Turn on your Bluetooth device and put it into pairing mode. Turn on your Bluetooth audio device and make sure it’s in “pairing” mode or “discoverable” mode.

If necessary, plug it into a power source. All devices are different so check the manual that came with your audio device to find out how to put your device into “pairing” mode if you don’t know how. This button is at the top of the page. Click Bluetooth. It’s the top option in the Add a Device window. Click your audio device’s name. It should appear in the “Add a Device” window; its name will likely be a combination of the model number and the manufacturer’s name.

Once you click it, it will begin pairing with your device automatically. If you don’t see the device appear, double-check that the device is in “pairing” mode, then scan for nearby devices again. Click Done. This button will appear in the bottom-right corner of the available Bluetooth devices window. Click Manage Audio Devices. This option has a symbol of a speaker next to it. Doing so will open your audio manager. Select your Bluetooth device. You should see its name in the Sound window, along with your computer’s default output device if you’re using a laptop.

If you’re connecting a microphone, you’ll first want to click the Recording tab at the top of the window. Click Set Default. It’s in the bottom-right corner of the window.

Click OK. Your device should now be the default in its category on your computer. You may need to restart your computer or update your computer’s software if the device doesn’t work.

Method 3. Turn on your Bluetooth device. Depending on the device, you may first need to connect it to a power source. Click Turn Bluetooth On if necessary.

If your Mac’s Bluetooth isn’t enabled, you’ll need to turn it on in order to view your Bluetooth device. Click your Bluetooth device’s name. This will likely be a combination of the model number and the manufacturer’s name. If you don’t see your device’s name, press the “pairing” button, or turn it off and then on again. Click Connect. Doing so will prompt your Mac and the device to pair with one another. Click System Preferences. This option is near the middle of the drop-down Apple menu.

Click Sound. You’ll see this speaker-shaped icon in the System Preferences window. Click the Output tab. It’s at the top of the Sound window. If you’re attaching a microphone, click the Input tab instead. Double-click your Bluetooth device’s name. Doing so will select it as your Mac’s primary output or input, if you’re attaching a microphone.
